Minnesota History: Building A Legacy

Telling the Stories of the Minnesota Historical Society’s Legacy Projects

We’re starting this blog to create an ongoing conversation about history projects funded by the Legacy Amendment.

Now that we’re in the second biennium since the Legacy Amendment was passed in 2008, we have a lot of stories to tell about how these projects are creating an impact for Minnesotans.

We’ll be telling stories about how we’re working with collaborators across the state to bring new technologies to classrooms and create meaningful connections to history; preserve historical collections; bring history to you with digitized resources; and build community connections through history.

As we tell these stories, we invite you to join in the discussion by commenting on our posts and sharing these stories.

This site is updated regularly with descriptions and data related to Legacy projects funded through the Minnesota Historical Society by the Legacy Amendment's Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund (ACHF).
Further information about the use and impact of all Legacy Funds can be found on the Minnesota Legislative Coordinating Commission's Minnesota's Legacy site.
