Background on Askov
Originally the Village of Partridge, modern day Askov, MN was destroyed in the 1894 Hinckley fire. Rebuilt by the Danish Peoples Society in 1906, the village was christened "Askov" meaning "ash forest." The village was incorporated on April 25, 1918. Another reminder of Askov's Danish founders: nearly all the streets in Askov have Danish names.
