Notice of Tentative Application Deadlines for Historical and Cultural Heritage Grants Program
The Minnesota Historical Society will be seeking grant applications to the Minnesota Historical and Cultural Heritage Grants Program to preserve and enhance access to the state’s historical and cultural resources and support projects of enduring value to history and historic preservation statewide – pending legislative action. For the FY 2010-2011 biennium $6.75 million was available, and the FY 2012-2013 biennium $10.5 million was available. The Minnesota History Coalition recommends the legislature provide $16 million for the FY 2014-2015 biennium beginning on July 1, 2013. The program is supported by funding from state appropriations to the Minnesota Historical Society from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
Grants will be awarded through a tiered competitive grants process. Applications for Small grants (up to $7,000) have rolling deadlines as shown below. Applications for Mid-size ($7,001 - $50,000) and Large ($50,001 and up) grants will be awarded in two cycles, one for each fiscal year.
